It remains also a rich experience and allows for the sharing and exchange between different cultures.
Message of hope
The Logos Hope is in the same family as the Doulos (for those who have had the chance to visit it) that was in Mauritius in 1995 and 2005. And it is run by a charitable organization, GBA Ships (formerly known as Good Books for All). The association bought the ship, built in 1973, and we can see by its beauty, we can deduce that it assumes his new role as floating library perfectly. Since then, it has travelled the world’s seas to convey a message of hope, provide assistance in ports where it stops and share the “good literature” with the inhabitants. That is what is written in the description of the books available on the boat. If the definition of what is “good” in terms of books escapes you, know that it is still not the same for everyone.
If you expect to find the latest Guillaume Musso or bestseller Harlan Coben, you will be disappointed. The Logos Hope is full of bibles, religious texts and books to develop its potential. There are also many books for children and young people (they will be the lucky ones during this visit), but also books and kitchen decor, encyclopedias, dictionaries and many things to read about the world and how it operates. This concept of floating library attracts more than one and it is that particular aspect that gave popularity to this boat.
The boat will be in the port of Mauritius until December 20, 2015.
Where is it ?
A dock (near Moulins de la Concorde). The public will have to go near the Quay D to head for the boat.
