Beaches of the Seychelles

During a stay or a cruise in the Seychelles archipelago, one must learn swimming before. From April to October, several beaches of La Digue are not recommended for paddling. These are Grand Anse, Petite Anse and Anse Cocos. However, the beach remains accessible throughout the year for sunbathing – no need to worry. According to the geography of the islands in the Seychelles, be it your villa, hotel or guesthouse it will always be close to the beach.

The coral islands like Denis Island, Desroches Island and Bird Island, offer the most extensive beaches. On those island the beaches runs on 5 or 6 km long. In some places, you have to share it with seabirds and turtles.

The protection of nature in the Seychelles limit facilities on the beaches. Some pristine islands (Cousin and Cousine) prohibit smoking, picnicking on the beach, or snorkeling. The most famous beaches of the Seychelles archipelago are located on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.

To discover all of them during the same trip, just book a combined holidays in the Seychelles and visit as many islands you can.

The most beautiful beaches of Seychelles

When we imagine the Seychelles, we see endless stretches of sandy beaches, white, surrounded by sumptuous granite rocks, I can attest that they are as heavenly as the postcards, and this is what everyone loves about these paradisiacal islands. The destination has so many beaches that are almost all desert. It’s very nice and it’s also what contributes to its charm, the fact that you will feel welcome!

Hotels usually offer water activities where you can enjoy kayaking, pedal boating, windsurfing, catamaran cruising etc … However, any motorized activity is prohibited in Praslin and the only beach available for water skiing or jet skiing is that of Beau vallon in Mahe.

The beaches that have marked visitors the most are those of Beau vallon in Mahe, Anse Georgette in Praslin, and Anse Source d’Argent in La Digue. The beach of Beau vallon is located north of Mahé. This is a rather mountainous and very green in contrast to the wide sandy beach where the rocks are few.

Anse Source D’Argent

Anse Georgette is on the island of Praslin, adjacent to the hotel Lemuria Resort. It is a very small intimate beach and the number of entries is limited by the hotel so it is not overloaded.

The brightness is magnificent and the typical granite rocks of the Seychelles make this beach a landscape worthy of the most beautiful postcards, the dreamlike scenery!

Cousin Islands and Curieuse island are the islets where the beaches are known to be more preserved and authentic.

These are islands where there are no hotels and which can only be reached by day boat trips and they all are full of small beaches  each wilder than the other.

And finally, last but not least, the most beautiful beach of the Seychelles: Anse Source d’Argent, La Digue. It is one of ten most beautiful beaches in the world … And it surely deserves the title!

It is a beach lined with blocks of pink granite, gently placed in the turquoise water.

This is a place you should not miss while visiting the Seychelles it is more than well worth a visit!

Have a wonderful holiday in the Seychelles!
