The village of Flic-en-Flac is located on the west coast of Mauritius about 20 kilometers south of the capital Port Louis. If you are looking for a place where the weather is good all year round in Mauritius, you must go to Flic-en-Flac. Not far from the capital, very close to cities like Rose-Hill or Quatre-Bornes, but especially near the airport, Flic-en-Flac is an excellent starting point for visiting Mauritius. Coconut trees or filaos?
The beach is very spacious, in fact, Flic-en-Flac is one of the longest beaches in Mauritius. White sand as far as the eye can see, but above all the sun. In the shelter of the trade winds of the south-west, it is always beautiful in Flic-en-Flac. The climate is almost identical to that of Grand Bay, but Flic-en-Flac has a much more pleasant water temperature. In summer it is very hot (comparable to Mexico) and the winter is mild. That’s why this small village is one of the most visited places on the island. The beach is lined with rows of filaos and coconut trees to brighten. In addition to its white sand and incredible gradients of blue, Flic-en-Flac is a true kingdom for nautical activities. Windsurfing, water skiing, paragliding, glass bottom boat trips, swimming with dolphins are among the many water sports activities that can be practiced in Flic-en-Flac. Several operators also offer catamaran and big game fishing in Flic-en-Flac. But the biggest privilege of the Flic-en-Flac is its submarine richness. Whether it is for underwater excursions or for scuba diving, Flic-en-Flac ranks as the best place to practice it.
The beach of Flic-en-Flac is quite deserted in weekdays and a little more crowded at weekends. Mauritians love to be there for family picnics. The night is free of charge with bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
