This small piece of land is located in the Indian Ocean, in the east of Madagascar. The island is known for its multifacetedness. Many beaches… some with blustering waves, some barely without waves, some invite you to the perfect fun in the water. Some parts of Mauritius are rocky, others are wooded, others stark and with a simple view over the never-ending vastness of the water, at some places the water is so clear that you can still see the ground after a few meters, in some parts the lagoons shine in different blue tones.
Mauritius has always been depicted as a destination for luxury tourism. It is indeed but travelling to Mauritius can fit any budget too. You don’t have to spend a fortune to have a great holiday in Mauritius. The trick, is to choose an all-inclusive hotel – and stay for longer. This sun-drenched island is not out of reach for those of us who are watching our spending. For us, there is the package deal, sometimes costing little more than the airfare, with a second week thrown in for only a couple of hundred pounds extra and sometimes a completely free third week. Accommodation, clearly, is not in five-stars, but fortunately the island also boasts a number of cheaper alternatives.
