Mauritius has made a reputation for itself as being a prime luxury holiday destination and as such it can offer a wide range of activities to visiting tourists such as hiking, golf, tennis, scuba diving, big game fishing, among others. One of the best-kept secrets of the island is that tourists and locals alike also have the opportunity to visit parts of the island on horseback. It is only natural, after all, since Mauritius is host to the oldest race track of the whole southern hemisphere, and since horse racing is much appreciated among the locals. Here is a list of agencies that offer such riding experiences in the island of Mauritius.

The Centre Equestre de Riambel
The Centre Equestre de Riambel is based in the South of the Island of Mauritius. The region is devoid of any hotels and the beach can be relatively devoid of people. Their stable is composed of 9 horses and a pony and they can accommodate beginners as well as experienced riders. 1. Looking for a good ride with no one telling me that I have to walk with a big crowd of other people who are are on a horse for the first time. Also I have never ridden on a beach before and would like to be able to do that and maybe go into the ocean with my horse.
